To resolve Error Copying File or Folder, There is insufficient disk space to complete operation on Windows 10, you may need to carry out these steps:
1. Run Disk Cleanup or Storage Sense.
2. Perform the operation in Clean Boot State.
3. Format the given partition to NTFS.
1. Run Disk Cleanup or Storage Sense
Try running Disk Cleanup or Storage Sense. This will clear all the junk files and clear up disk space.
2. Perform the operation in Clean Boot State
Boot in Clean Boot State and see if that fixes the error. When you boot your computer in the Clean boot state, it boots up your computer with minimal resources, software and services running in the background.
Any of startup processes or services causing this conflict, would not be able to cause it anymore because they will not be running in the background.
3. Format the given partition to NTFS
You can also try to format the given partition because the file system of the given partition might not be enough to handle that file operation.
Hence, you can try to format the given partition and set the File System to be NTFS.
You should keep this in mind that formatting a partition will result in the loss of the said data. So, you might have to consider getting a backup before formatting the partition.
Individual files on a FAT32 drive cannot exceed 4 GB size limit. Also, FAT32 partition must be less than 8 TB. This is the reason why FAT32 is considered suitable for USB flash drives or external media but not for an internal drive. Hence, if the file system is causing any issues, NTFS should be the best possible file system to fix the issue.
Hope this will fix your problem.
